Ultrasonic Flaw Detectors
|
|
Sonatest’s comprehensive range of portable
ultrasonic flaw detectors provide the end
user with unrivalled flexibility and performance
in the field of Non Destructive Flaw detection.
The Sitescan and Masterscan Series of digital
ultrasonic flaw detectors cover the full
spectrum of operator requirements from entry
level models to those powerful enough for
use in high-spec application environments,
such as Aerospace and Automotive.
Application specific
models are also available in the Railscan
125, Dryscan 410D and the Powerscan 450P
models. Supported by cutting edge software
development the Sonatest Digital Flaw Detector
range enable to operator to use a wide range
measurement features as standard together
with options that are application focussed.
With a strong and established heritage in
Flaw Detector design and development Sonatest
Ltd offer some of the most powerful and
rugged flaw detectors on the market.

Basic Flaw Detectors
The 123W is a simple to operate
flaw detector and is used by the
world’s leading training organisations.
With the user interface becoming
familiar in minutes technicians
can concentrate on operation and
learning ultrasonic theory. The
“analogue feel” from the high quality
broadband amplifier shows all the
detail required to demonstrate how
ultrasound changes with defect types,
such as holes and cracks, essential
in understanding ultrasonic's at
Level I and II. For classroom presentation
the 123W has a composite video output
for connection to LCD projectors.
The Sitescan delivers high performance
and advanced features, yet our engineer's
experience in user interface design
has ensured it is easy and quick
to use. The acknowledged ease of
use of previous generation Sitescans
has been enhanced with the menu
navigation scroll-wheel, providing
easy access to functions. The menu
structure has been designed to guide
the user through their task with
operation quickly becoming second
nature. |

General Flaw Detectors
For over 20 years the Sitescan name
has meant highly reliable, technician
focussed flaw detectors and the
new range continues this tradition.
From the 123W entry level model
to the high specification 250S -
ease of use, rugged construction
and high quality amplifiers are
key elements of the design. Typical
applications are weld inspection,
corrosion testing, small castings/forgings
and lamination checking. |

High Performance Flaw Detectors
For over 20 years the Masterscan
name has meant exceptional performance
with class leading design, the 350M
and 380M continue this tradition.
The latest developments in amplifier
and pulser technology deliver higher
levels of near surface resolution,
penetrating power and excellent
signal to noise ratio. Typical applications
are thin walled components, turbine
blades, spot welds, power generation
(including EMATs), large castings
and forgings.
The SFD-100 range of ultrasonic
instrumentation can be moulded to
your inspection requirements, capable
of producing A-scan, B-scan, C-scan
and strip chart information. It
uses Sonatest’ bespoke powerful
data capture and high performance
multi-channel pulser-receiver hardware
for mixed pulse-echo, through-transmission
inspections. |

Special Applications Flaw Detectors
The Dryscan 410D or Shadow Technique
is a proven method in the Non-Destructive
testing of high technology materials
used in the Aerospace and Aviation
Industry, especially Hybrids, Composites
and Honeycomb structures, which
cannot be examined successfully
by conventional NDT methods. This
technique can be used in the through
transmission mode i.e. with the
signal passing directly through
the test material from the transmitter
to the receiver, and also when working
with the transmitter and receiver
transducers on the same side of
the specimen.
For over 20 years the Railscan name
has meant exceptional performance
with class leading design. The latest
developments in amplifier and pulser
technology deliver higher levels
of near surface resolution, penetrating
power and excellent signal to noise
ratio.

SoudScan 101
The SOUNDSCAN 101 Receiver converts
ultrasound signals produced by critical
equipment into audible sounds that
are easily recognizable so the user
can evaluate the condition of individual
components, even in extremely noisy
environments. Early warning signs
and defects can be detected preventing
costly repairs, safety-related injuries
and downtime. |
